Ps Ratnam and his family

In July 2011 Elim House opened with the first six ladies who now reside their permanently. Ratnam and his family started this work three years prior assisting the elderly in food and medical expenses. Each of these ladies have been completely neglected by their children. The homes provides three meals each day, proper medical care and loving accommodation. Please read the stories of our ladies below

1.
Pagidi Kathula Vazrama (80 yrs).Twenty
years before her husband died leaving her with one son. Even though the son married
he did not take care of his wife or his mother properly. The son physically
abused his wife and beat her brutally. After some time the wife become very ill
and died. After her death Vazrama's son became a heavy drinker and left the
home. So Vazrama was left alone without anybody. Ratnam ( the director of the aged care home) knew about
her and provided food assistance. Vazrama now has somewhere to stay and be cared for.
Sponsorship for Vazrama is $50 per month.
2.Pallapu Bdramma, (81 yrs). Bdramma's husband died
3 years ago. Eight years ago their only son never returned home on what was a 'normal' day. Bdramma suspects that he may have been killed or kidnapped. After this event her she suffered great depression, amxiety and sadness. Bdramma stayed with a relative however they could not look after her. Bdramma is now in the Elim home and very happy.

Pagidi Kathula Vellama,
(75 rs). Ten
years ago Vellama was widowed leaving her with two sons. One son disappeared 7 years ago without trace. Her second son also died a few years ago leaving his
wife and 3 children. This made living extremely difficult for both Vellama and her daughter in law trying to survive each day.
Sponsorship for Vellama is $50
4. Irugu Muthamma, (68 yrs).
Ten years ago Muthamma was widowed leaving her with one daughter. After her daughter got married, she left
the home with her husband to live in another region and was never looked after by them. Muthamma lived in slum area and was forced to beg for food to survive. Her live has now changed dramatically since moving to Elim House

5. Rajputhra Jayarani, (80 yrs). Jayarani's husband had died 8 years before. Jayarani has only one son though he lives in a distant village. The son has never given Jayarani money to look after her properly, and seldom visits. Jayarani was forced to live in the slums in a very difficult environment. To support herself Jayarani had to go from door to door begging for food and money. She is so happy to be in Elim House.
Jayarani's sponsorship is $50 per month.
